Does Venus have life?

It has now been observed that the long-overlooked Venusian atmosphere may be harboring life! According to an article in New York Times in September 2020, scientists are now turning their telescopes and probes into Venus.

Japan’s Akatsuki spacecraft, which is a probe on Venus launched in 2010, in 2016 recorded an image of Venus, surprising scientists with a chemical signature spotted in its thick clouds. Though specimens of the microbes have not yet been collected by the probe, nor any pictures snapped, powerful telescopes detected a chemical, ‘phosphine’, which can be only produced by something alive!

Here on Earth, phosphine is found only in our intestines, in the feces of badgers and penguins, and in some deep-sea worms. It is also extremely poisonous. Militaries have employed it for chemical warfare, and it is used as a fumigant on farms.

On the popular Netflix TV show, Breaking Bad, the main character, Walter White, kills two people with it!

On smaller, rocky planets like Earth and Venus, researchers say, there is not enough energy to produce copious amounts of phosphine in the same way. There is one thing, however, that appears to be very good at producing it — anaerobic life, or microbial organisms that don’t require or use oxygen. If there really was phosphine on Venus, there could be no other obvious explanation than anaerobic life.

Deep in my stomach, there is a feeling. Yes, the stomach also has a brain, you can look up. For some reason, the year 2020 seems to be preparing mankind for some kind of a monstrous adjustment, some kind of a “Contact”.

With the Covid, humans have already learnt a lesson that we have been taking life, air, breathing, our organs too much for granted. We have been taking out flora and fauna life too lightly. We have been suffering from a superiority complex for far too long. It was necessary to hack down the size of our egos this way. Now with all these signals from the Universe, is God preparing us for something big in the coming years?
