The Even Couple

A few of the best childhood memories:

We sleep on the sofa and wake up on bed…:)

We never went to bed hungry and vaguely remember sleepily eating from someone’s hand.

Glasses that were left on the table magically stood washed on the kitchen rack;

Clothes, we didn’t remember where we threw after coming back from school, lay neatly folded after washing in the cupboard;

Shoes were always found on the rack, even though we didn’t remember where we took them off.

Hankies and socks were never lost.

School fees were always updated and shoes polished. When I lay in bed with fever, her stew and rice made my mouth water.

Such people are hard to find. I found a couple of them after years and grabbed onto them for a month. But now it’s time to let them go.

I have to transform overnight from being the protected to the protector… once again.
